Renewable generation
Clean energy production is one of our strengths. With 63.7 GW of installed renewable capacity, Enel Green Power produces zero-emission electricity by combining the most innovative technologies in hydroelectric, photovoltaic, wind and geothermal power with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) systems to make stable and continuous production and zero CO2 .

The energy transition
Our aim is to achieve complete decarbonization by 2040. We are gradually reducing the contribution from coal to zero: the closure of all coal-fired plants, originally planned for 2030, will be completed ahead of schedule, in 2027. We intend to lead the transition towards a fully decarbonized society, thereby enabling stakeholders to have access to renewable energy so that they can live sustainably.
The Grid
We are committed to transforming Electric Grids into smart grids to create a more digital and resilient infrastructure.
The road to electrification and sustainable energy requires efficient and smart Grids with high standards of reliability to enable increasing integration of renewables on the grid and to withstand extreme weather events associated with climate change.
With more than 1.9 million kilometers of power lines and 45.6 million smart meters, we want to help electrify energy consumption in all the countries where we operate: for more than 20 years we have been at the forefront of digitalization and automation of grid infrastructure, promoting the deployment of smart meters in Italy, Spain and Latin America.
We are fostering electrification by focusing on operational excellence to ensure that more and more people have access to reliable, interactive and efficient energy distribution.

We are present in major international wholesale markets for energy commodities to ensure a stable and sustainable energy supply in the countries where we operate in all aspects.
The Global Energy and Commodity Management division is our unique interface with the wholesale and financial markets for energy commodities.
Through flexible solutions using digital tools and artificial intelligence, we manage integrated portfolios with hedging activities to reduce risk and regulate energy supply.
The selection of suppliers of energy commodities and related services, is carried out through the Know Your Customer process: this is how we assess, for each counterparty, reputational, economic-financial aspects and the possession of suitable technical-commercial requirements. In particular, counterparties are asked for adherence to the Group's principles, such as the Human Rights Policy, Code of Ethics, Zero Tolerance to Corruption Plan, and Environmental Policy.
This allows us to offer our clients strategic and at the same time sustainable services.
